ADTC Elects New Officers

Looking to strengthen grassroots activism, the Amherst Democratic Town Committee reorganized its executive committee and stepped-up activity in the past two months.

Dan Ordorica, who previously served as secretary, was elected chair of the committee in August, with the goal of increasing outreach and sponsoring more regular events.

Former co-chairs Brian Boyd and Evan Ross, who led the ADTC for six years, remained on the executive committee, with Evan elected as the new secretary and Brian voted in as outreach advisor. At the same time, Austin Sarat was elected second vice chair, a vacant position. Keri Heitner agreed to continue to serve as treasurer.

In September, the ADTC elected Dana Carnegie as first vice chair, completing the new leadership.

Our goal is to make the ADTC more energized and visible going into the midterm elections and beyond. We are adding new members to the committee, planning efforts to elect Democrats, and expanding efforts to express our values as a party through social media and local newspapers. Stay tune for future events.
